Jose (Pepe) Inostroza

Pepe (Jose) Inostroza Aqueveque is an interdisciplinary Performing Artist, Facilitator, Somatic Psychotherapist, Yogi, Physical Therapist and Creator. He graduated as a Psychologist and Actor in his native Chile, where he also added training in Meditation, Gestalt, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Breathwork, Psychodrama, and Projective test, as well as creative workshops in Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, Emotional Expression, Singing and Spoken word.

Once in Australia, he expanded his formal training with a Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy, Cert IV in Yoga Teaching, and Adv Dip in Myotherapy; together with exploring workshops related to the Alexander Technique, TaKeTiNa, Somatic Therapy, Trauma Awareness and Animal Studies. Has a strong connection with communities that identify as Multicultural, Linguistically Diverse, People of Colour and 2SLGBTQIA+.

He also worked in group settings with patients, caregivers and family members of people with Dementia, PTSD, Chronic Mental and Physical Health conditions, as well as those who had experienced Displacement, become Refugees or Migrants.

Pepe as an Artist has international professional experience in Theatre and Contemporary dance since 2006. Once in Australia, he presented at FCAC, as director and performer in Homemotion, part of the 2017 Fringe Festival, and in 2022, developed and presented “The Rite of Rebirth” as part of Banksia Festival at La Mama, a contemporary ritualistic dance intervention.

Collaborated as dancer and facilitator in Bukjeh, a community-based performance, with showings at the Immigration Museum (2018), City of Casey 2019, Shepparton 2019, FCAC Due west Festival 2019, BUNJIL 2019, City of Whittlesea 2020, the Drum Theatre 2021, and PRACC of City of Whittlesea 2021, Sheparton 2022, and Palestine Conference in Melbourne 2023.

He has also been an Artist creator, Choreographer and Performer of “I am Nature” an interactive and participatory show for toddlers and kids at online Artplay 2021 and IRL 2022, and at the Bowery Theatre 2023. Currently is part of the Nelipot Collective working on the new piece called Raze Rays Raise.

Currently collaborating as dancer in Nelipot Collective’s new work Rays Raze Raise.

He offers therapeutic services of Remedial Myotherapy, and Somatic Myotherapy under his company Ease and Motion, from Beach Road Body and Mind Centre, at Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania.
